Airport Parking Relief In Sight

While the City of Anchorage is offering forgiveness of those who have made parking transgressions with the donation of a few cans to their food drive, the City of Kenai is getting ready to offer some parking relief of it’s own.

Kenai City Council member Henry Knackstedt recently announced that the City will be upgrading its software, so those who find their vehicles stranded at the airport won’t have to scramble for the airport manager’s digits.
Kenai City Council Member Henry Knackstedt: “You also have the option to put in your cellphone number and it will text you, if you ask it to, about fifteen minutes before your permit expires.  So, if you are stuck in Anchorage, or somewhere else, something inadvertent happens, you don’t have to call the airport manager’s office or worry about it – you can use your credit card and extend your parking.”

Knackstedt says they hope to have the software in a few weeks and it will be woven into the credit card system that is already in place.
